What’s the role about?
In this position as Trade Mark Legal Secretary, your standard hours will be 9am to 5pm (Monday to Friday) which is only a 35 hour working week and that’s just the first bonus of working for this Specialist Practice!

The position available will see you working in a rare 1:1 capacity supporting a charming and highly successful Trade Marks Lawyer who focuses on a broad range of Trade Mark law matters including the prosecution of Australian and New Zealand Trade Mark applications, opposition proceedings, removal actions and the enforcement of Trade Mark and related rights.

The client base that you will be working closely with consist of numerous high-profile Australian and International companies and government entities in the luxury goods, clothing, agribusiness and construction/mining sectors.

What will you do on a daily basis?
The work that you will be assisting with will include conducting Trade Mark clearance searches, preparing prosecutions of domestic, overseas and international registrations, Trade Mark applications and opposition proceedings.

Of course your core responsibilities will embrace traditional legal secretary duties such as dictaphone typing and dealing with hard copy documents, completing the procedures and formal requirements for lodging Trade Mark documents, diary management, amendments, dealing with IP Australia and all other general admin requirements.

Is this role right for you?
As the ideal candidate for this position, you will hold specific experience with intellectual property law (ideally Trade Marks) as a Legal Secretary or Legal PA. Your solid skills as a fast and accurate typist and ability to remain calm under pressure will assist in your success, as will any experence using Inprotech. Due to the nature of this work, it is imperative that you are able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Working with Partners who have been described as „dynamic, progressive and fairly self-sufficient”, we are looking for a strong intermediate legal secretary who is looking to develop their skills in a friendly team environment.

Previous experience with another commercial practice group would be ideal as you will gain exposure to matters across mergers & acquisitions, capital markets and corporate advisory.

To be considered for this role, you must have at least 12 months experience as a legal secretary. Experience at another National law firm will be highly regarded.

Conveyancing Manager / Legal Executive – Rare Opportunity with Developer – Ref

This long standing and leading property development company is experiencing a time of growth and now seeks a Conveyancing Manager clerk to join their in-house property team.

Located in a fantastic CBD fringe location, close to all forms of public transport, you will work closely with the company’s a General Counsel and oversee all aspects of large scale property development projects including acquisition of land, the planning and subdivision process to contract management and settlement.

You will be supported by a team of conveyancers and administrative assistants and have the opportunity to build close relationships with external law firms, mortgage brokers and sales agents.

Your duties may include:

– Manage all legal matters including land acquisitions and preparing plans of subdivisions
– Drafting correspondence and contracts
– Liaise with external agents, solicitors and mortgage brokers
– Reviewing all incoming correspondence
– Extensive contract review
– Spreadsheet and database management

To be considered for this unique role you, you must have:

– worked in a similar role with another property development company; or
– be an experienced conveyancing clerk who currently manages large scale developments matters at a private practice law firm

You will also have a confident and proactive attitude to tackle the variety of tasks that may arise on a day to day basis. Strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills and the ability to mentor a team will be highly regarded.
